Make A Card Day 🪪 3rd October 🏞️ Keeping In Touch

Making A Card Day - Keeping In Touch
To celebrate World Card Making Day on 3rd October, this activities page explores friendship and the pleasure of keeping in touch. A card, a letter, a phone call or a visit can be a lovely way to let someone know we’re thinking of them.
We’ll share memories of special cards and letters, name occasions when we might send a card, and compare how we kept in touch years ago with the ways we communicate today.
Our musical selections are “Thank You for Being a Friend” by Andrew Gold, “Please Mr. Postman” by the Carpenters and “Return to Sender” by Elvis Presley - familiar songs to enjoy together and spark conversation.
For our practical activity, we’ll make a “Thank You For Being A Friend” card, adding decorations and a personal message for someone special. Facilitators, please bring envelopes and stamps so the finished cards can actually be sent!
Take your time, enjoy the conversation and join in whichever activities appeal to you.
Boosting brain power together to benefit quality of life.
