'All Souls Day' ✝️ 2nd November 💀 'Day Of The Dead'

Welcome to our All Souls’ Day and Day of the Dead activities. We begin with some facts about All Souls’ Day, followed by a look at how remembrance is expressed in different ways around the world. In “A Different Tradition” and “Symbols and Traditions,” we explore the Mexican Day of the Dead alongside British customs, while remembering that these are distinct traditions.
There are two food activities: can you name the Mexican foods and drinks, then the English foods and drinks? You can also have a go at making a marigold, a flower often associated with Day of the Dead.
Music is part of our activities too. Listen to our Songs of the Day, including “Spirit in the Sky,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and “Angels,” and share what the songs mean to you.
Finally, we turn to our own memories. “Write Your Own Eulogy” offers a gentle way to think about the qualities, stories and moments we’d like others to remember. In “Choosing Funeral Songs,” you can share songs that are special to you, sum you up, or would be meaningful at a farewell.
Join in as much or as little as you wish.
